Home Shore: Formosa

2026 Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra Concert in Taiwan | “Home Shore: Formosa”
“Resonating from the world, praised upon Formosa.”
Home Shore: Formosa is a musical journey of “coming ashore from the world and returning to the land.” The program opens with classic European wind repertoire, highlighting national memories and local color. Gradually, the musical perspective shifts toward Taiwan, entering the cultural atmosphere of temple courtyards, the island’s legends, and collective memory allowing this familiar land to be rediscovered through the resonant sounds of the wind orchestra.
This concert is performed by the Asian wind band benchmark, the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, conducted by guest conductor Professor Shu-Han Yeh, and featuring internationally renowned saxophonist Nikita Zimin. Together, they will present a series of classic works spanning regions and cultures. Through these diverse sounds from around the globe, we set sail within the notes and gradually approach the shore ultimately returning, with a broadened perspective, to the home shore we stand upon together: Formosa, Taiwan.
