Homegrown and Well-known

“Wind Bands can play Metallica?”

Believe it. Singapore Wind Symphony Youth (SWSY) makes its debut at Esplanade’s Beautiful Sunday, turning home-grown works and pop classics into brass and woodwind anthems.

From Metallica riffs to Wicked ballads, patriotic tunes to classic band favourites, this Beautiful Sunday has something for every ear.

The Singapore Wind Symphony Youth (SWSY) was formed in 2003 and revitalised in 2023. Bringing together students from secondary and tertiary schools and diverse backgrounds, its young musicians share a common goal: to develop their musical and leadership abilities beyond the classroom, and pursue excellence together.

SWSY continues to champion high-quality wind band music, seeking opportunities to make classical music accessible to youth communities, both as musicians and audiences, and to the wider public in Singapore.
